What's self-migrating email address or phone number?

It's a new feature that allows you to migrate your email address or phone number from a different account to your current account. Your current account remains active while the other account will be closed.

Checklist

  1. How to migrate my email address or phone number?
  2. Go to Profile and select Security
  3. Find Email verification and select Change email if you would like to update your email
  4. Enter your email in the New email field
  5. Enter the 2FA code to continue (if any)
  6. If the email you entered is linked/bound with another account, you will see a pop-up message. Select Migrate email address to continue
  7. Select Migrate email address to continue
  8. A guideline will be displayed and you're required to select I understand
  9. Email transfer preview page will be displayed and you're required to select Next
  10. Select close account and Yes, I'm sure to confirm the request
  11. Enter the 2FA code to complete the request.
  12. Go to Profile and select Security

Notes

Example: if you've an unverified account (Account A) and a verified account (Account B), you can migrate Account A into B. After migration, Account A will be closed and account B will remain as the primary account.

This function is only applicable when:

You want to update your current phone number or email address, but the new phone number or email address is linked to another account.

You want to link a new phone number or email address, but it's linked to another account.
