When you try to close a position entirely (Close all) in spot margin trading, you may encounter a situation where the position cannot be fully closed. This occurs because the position has liability or interest.

In cross margin mode

Checklist

  1. When you use the quote currency as margin to open long position, the position assets = available assets.
  2. When you use the trade currency as margin to open a short position, the position assets = available assets.
  3. Price limit rule
  4. Leverage and position tier limits

Notes

For example: BTC/USDT, where BTC is the trade currency and USDT is the quote currency:

When you close a position with a limit order, the closing is based on the available assets. If you're at a loss and you proceed to select Close all, you may not be able to pay off your liability, which means you can't fully close the position.

In isolated margin mode

Position assets = quantities bought + margin balance.
