What is a Seed Phrase?
A seed phrase (also known as a mnemonic phrase) is a set of randomly generated words, usually consisting of 12, used to back up and restore your wallet. If you lose access to your wallet or forget your wallet password, you can use the seed phrase to restore your wallet and regain access to your assets. Since the seed phrase is derived from the private key, anyone who has access to the seed phrase has full control over the wallet and its assets.
Important Note: Wallets created via OKX Wallet use a 12-word seed phrase; The wallet seed phrase is automatically generated when you back up your wallet.
