What does Passphrase refer to?
This is the password you filled in when applying for the API key. You need to remember it yourself. Once you forget it, you can't retrieve it and you'll need to create a new API key.

- On the App:
- Log in to your OKX account > Select Menu (⋮⋮⋮) > Scroll down and select API > Create API key
- Fill in the API name > Select Account and Purpose > Enter the IP address allowlist > Select Permissions > Enter the Paraphrase
- On the Web:
- Log in to your OKX account > Go to your Profile and select API and connections > Create API key
- Fill in the API key name > Select Account and Used for
- Enter the IP address allowlist > Select Permissions > Enter the Paraphrase
- How do I manage or edit the API key?
- Log in to your OKX account and go to Profile > API.
- You'll see a list of your existing API keys. Click on the one you want to manage.

IP addresses help secure your API key. You can link up to 20 addresses per key, separating them with a comma or a space.
You are required to view API info and access its interface. Please keep your password safe. You may create a new API if you lose the password, as we can't recover APIs.
